WHY FILM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
So much happens on the wedding day. So many tiny interactions between loved ones, friends, family relations. All the myriad emotional connections that we experience captured on film. A film is an extension of our collective memory that we can tap into on a quiet evening with a glass of wine and our loved one sitting by our side. A film is a gift for relatives, those far away, a dearly beloved grandparent too frail to attend, a friend or two away on business so they too can join in and share the moments, the celebration of your love and commitment to each other all captured in stunning 4k cinematic magnificence.
Your day will be filmed in it's entirety. No corners cut. Everything is filmed in 4k which means very detailed high resolution video footage. So detailed in fact that you can create super photos from each individual frame. This means that you can upgrade from Package 1 or Package 2 or 3. Multiple cameras are used to film both the ceremony and speeches. This ensures multiple angles and is also a safety against any technical malfunctions. So often couples tell me that seeing the extended video is like being at the wedding and also gives them the chance to see the wedding as friends and family did. My generous offering includes the entirely of the ceremony and speeches so if the service and speeches are 4 hours long then your extended video will be that long. Usually the extended video is in the region of 45- 80 minutes.
WHY CHOOSE ME?
As a film maker I firmly believe in documenting things as they unfold in an authentic reportage style. It means finding the beauty in the moment, deciding in the moment what will look best with which lens or camera. It's an improvisation with light and the unfolding drama of the wedding day. I'm not really an interventionist. Your photographer can pose you. I will remain quietly in the background observing and capturing, looking for those moments that will help tell your story and be a reflection of the unique and beautiful people you are. You can just be yourselves and enjoy the wedding day. My extensive experience in the arts - particularly music, film and photography gives me the ability to see things and to create from a space of experience and knowledge. It means you are in good hands. I love what I do and I enjoy filming. I even film in my spare time. I never get bored of it.
It is often said that music is the space between the notes. With weddings it is the unscripted moments that appear in the captured glance of a loved one, the tipsy dance moves of a funny uncle, the letting go of the father and his daughter, the nervous groom as he awaits his bride, the sleepy child at the end of an evening......and many more.

EVERY WEDDING IS UNIQUE
Every couple has a unique story that I love to capture and express through beautifully realised films that showcase the drama, the passion and the emotions of the day. With the latest film technology and editing skills I am able to film the entire day using multiple cameras, drone footage and magnificent music that reflects not only the creative vision that I have but also the personalities of everyone involved. I am generous with my time in consultations and also with the content that I produce. Generally I will film the entire day and even if initially only a highlight video is required there is always an option to upgrade to the full package which includes a film of the entire wedding service and speeches and the fun bits in between. WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I USE?
This might seem like a surprising question but one that is frequently asked. So here goes. I use Sony mirrorless cameras. They are small and durable and in one rucksack I can carry 4, each with a different prime lens. HOLLYWOOD in a bag. As I primarily film alone it is crucial to be mobile and quick. I will film the service and speeches with 3 or 4 cameras and this not only gives wider coverage but also insures against any mishaps like batteries running out or autofocus not being accurate. Unlikely for all unmanned cameras to malfunction simultaneously.
When it comes to sound I will use a combination of onboard camera mics, a Zoom recording device either as an external mic or hooked up to the DJ's system or venues sound system and Sony TX650 recording devices. Again multiple sound sources so that there are backups if any one system fails.
As an experienced drone pilot I can also offer drone footage. This depends largely on the weather, location and venue permissions. As the Mavic Mini 3 Pro weighs less the 250g there are many restrictions that do not apply to flying this drone which makes flying a lot less complicated. The drone is tiny so if it fell from the sky it would be the equivalent of a seagull swooping down and trying to knock a sandwich or chips from your hand. The footage it creates is incredible and can really enhance the eventual wedding film.

AND WHO AM I? ( about me )
I might possibly be the person you trust to film your wedding day. And I hope you do.
My British parents moved to South Africa when I was a kid so I have a bit of a Cape Town twang to my accent. I've probably lived half my life in Africa and half here in the UK. I love to travel and immerse myself in new cultures and surround myself with interesting adventurous people. In my teens I trained as a classical pianist. I never really liked the stage or performing so I explored hospitality and immersed myself in Thai and Chinese food cultures. When I moved to London I trained to be a sommelier and served kings and queens and famous movies stars. As a pub manager I lost myself in late night reveries with locals and became comfortable with English culture discovering my roots as it were. I've been flown to places like New York, Havana, Basel, Amsterdam filming Behind the Scenes for major production companies and been on a road trip across Cuba filming a band of classical musicians. I've even filmed sheep farmers in the Alps! I'm an adventurer of sorts. Always looking for new and stimulating experiences. Filming combines both my talents for music and photography and filming weddings gives me carte blanch to explore new techniques and do the thing I love: visual story telling.
